Data Deletion Policy
Effective date: 27 August 2026
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This page explains exactly what data Equal Pixels holds about people who message us on WhatsApp or contact us through https://equalpixels.io, how to ask us to delete it, and what happens after you ask.
You do not need an account, and you do not need to give a reason. Deletion is free, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
1. The short version
Send the message DELETE MY DATA to the WhatsApp number you have been talking to, or email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We verify the request, delete your data, and confirm in writing within 30 days.
2. What data we hold
Depending on how you have interacted with us, we may hold:
- Your WhatsApp phone number (your WhatsApp ID)
- Your WhatsApp profile name, as you have set it
- The content of your conversation with us — text, images, documents, audio notes, video, location pins, contact cards and any files you attached
- Message metadata — timestamps, delivery and read status, message IDs, and the template or campaign a message belonged to
- Information you volunteered in the conversation — for example your name, email address, company, order or invoice number, delivery address or appointment preference
- Your consent record — when and how you opted in, and any opt-out you sent
- Website enquiry data — the name, email address, phone number and message you submitted through a form on our website
- Any support ticket or customer record created from your conversation
Our Privacy Policy explains why we hold each of these and how long we keep them by default.
3. How to request deletion
Use whichever route is easiest. All three reach the same place.
Route 1 — over WhatsApp
Send the message DELETE MY DATA to the WhatsApp number you have been messaging with. You can also simply tell our agent or automated assistant that you want your data deleted, in your own words.
This is the fastest route, because the request comes from the number we hold, which means we can verify it immediately.
Route 2 — by email
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". So that we can find your records, please include:
- the WhatsApp phone number you used to contact us, in full international format; and
- any email address you used on a website form, if that is also relevant.
Route 3 — through our website
Submit a request through the contact form at https://equalpixels.io, stating that you want your data deleted and including the phone number or email address you used with us.
4. How we verify a request
We verify requests so that nobody can delete someone else's records.
- A request sent from the WhatsApp number itself is treated as verified on arrival.
- A request sent by email or web form is matched against our records. If we cannot match it confidently, or the request arrives from an address we do not recognise, we will reply asking you to confirm — usually by sending a short confirmation message from the WhatsApp number in question.
We only ask for the minimum needed to establish that the request is yours, and we do not use anything you send for verification for any other purpose.
5. What happens, and when
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your request | Within 3 business days |
| We verify the request (if it did not come from your WhatsApp number) | Within 7 days |
| We delete your data and instruct our processors to do the same | Within 30 days of a verified request |
| We confirm to you in writing that deletion is complete | On completion |
If a request is unusually complex and we need longer, we will tell you before the 30 days are up, explain why, and give you a revised date.
6. What gets deleted
On a verified request we delete, from our own systems and from the systems of the processors acting on our behalf:
- your WhatsApp phone number and profile name;
- the full content and metadata of your conversation with us;
- any files, images or documents you sent us;
- website form submissions associated with you; and
- any support ticket or customer record created from your contact with us, except where section 7 applies.
7. What we may keep, and why
A small amount of data may survive a deletion request, and only where the law allows or requires it:
- A suppression record — we keep a minimal record of your phone number on a do-not-contact list. This exists so that we do not message you again, and it is used for nothing else. If you would prefer we did not keep even this, tell us and we will remove it, but we will then be unable to guarantee that you are not contacted in a future campaign.
- Records we must retain by law — for example invoices and transaction records kept for tax and accounting purposes.
- Data under legal hold — where the data is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, or is subject to an ongoing dispute or investigation. We delete it once the matter is resolved.
- Backups — deleted data may persist in encrypted backups until those backups age out on their normal cycle, and is not restored into live systems.
Where any of this applies to your request, we will tell you specifically what we have kept and why.
8. What this does not cover
Deleting your data with us does not:
- Delete the conversation from your own WhatsApp app. That copy is on your device and under your control — delete the chat in WhatsApp if you want it gone.
- Delete data that WhatsApp and Meta hold independently as operators of the WhatsApp platform. For that, see the WhatsApp Privacy Policy and your WhatsApp in-app settings.
- Delete anything you have posted publicly or sent to a third party outside our services.
9. If you only want to stop messages
If your goal is to stop hearing from us rather than to erase your history, you do not need a deletion request. Reply STOP to any of our WhatsApp messages, tell our agent or assistant to stop messaging you, or email [email protected]. You can also block or report our number inside WhatsApp. We action opt-outs promptly.
10. Your other rights
Deletion is one of several rights you have. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to restrict or stop certain processing, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. Section 9 of our Privacy Policy sets these out in full, including the GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights that apply if you are in the EEA, the UK or California.
11. If you are not satisfied
If you think we have handled your request badly, reply to us first and we will look at it again. You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority in your country of residence.
